A worker with the Tennessee Department of Transportation was killed and three others were injured Thursday while working along Interstate 40 West in Hickman County.
The TDOT road crew had stopped on the shoulder of the interstate when the crew, including several workers and a caravan of vehicles, was struck by a commercial vehicle.
The worker killed in the crash is the first TDOT fatality since 2013.
TDOT did not release the name of the worker who was killed, nor those who were injured.
The THP says the crash remains under investigation.
